Contrary to popular belief, (Unless I'm horrifically mistaken,) when making a character, putting points into a stat does not guarantee a higher stat mod at all. People make the mistake, or I would call it a mistake, of dumping 5 points into whatever two stats they want. If I'm correct, putting points into a stat increases the RANGE of the stat mod. If you put 5 points into a stat, then you have the CHANCE to roll a higher stat-mod than normal. It is not guaranteed, at all.
So literally, putting 5 points into one mod and HOPING to roll the highest stat-mod possible is an extreme form of gambling. You may get that mod, but chances are you will not.
A much better method, in my opinion, is to find 4 or 5 stats you would like to have well made, and put a few stat points here or there. Even just putting a singular stat point into a mod raises that limit ever so slightly. With 4 or 5 stat mods having points in them, the chances of getting a stat mod that is larger than the normal limit for the race's mod significantly increases.
If you put five points into str, then you roll a low str, that's 5 points completely and utterly wasted.
